Dr Andre Brody
FRACGP
Andre graduated in South Africa in 1992 with a medical degree from The University of Pretoria. Post graduation he left South Africa to work in Namibia and Canada for 2 years, gaining experience from the broad range that rural medicine had to offer.
He thrived in rural medicine and the diversity it offered and being the first level of patient contact in a primary health setup, it was a challenge he thoroughly enjoyed.
This lead him to do locums in rural South-East Queensland for 2 years before taking up the full time position of medical superintendent at the Charleville Base hospital in Queensland from 1998 till 2005 During that time he passed the RACGP exam and obtained his fellowship to the College of General Practitioners as well as he became an Australian citizen.
He was exposed to the whole spectrum that rural medicine had to offer and became an integral part of the outback community getting involved in fund raising and charitable work. He had a close working relationship with the RFDS who was also based in town.
His interests include paediatrics, women’s and men’s health, chronic disease management, geriatric medicine and mental health.
He moved to Botany in 2008 and has been employed as a full time private practitioner in this bay side community ever since then.
He enjoys being involved in the continuing care of his patient and feels rewarded when offered the opportunity to assist his patients in a variety of circumstances that life might bring up.
